The video work is based on the exploration of the relation between reality and illusionary.

First of all, my creative practice is mainly focused on fashion design so that I devoted to observing the human body. The fact that we are not able to get to know each part of our own bodies without interacting with external objects such as garment, jewelry arouses my interest. We cannot access the whole view of our bodies at once. We are puzzling the images to build up a completed view. We need to use imagination to fill up the gap. Thus, our understanding of ourselves is like a combination of the real perception and imagination. What’s more, we have to rely on a mirror to explore some areas of the body. Nevertheless, what we receive is always a reversed image and a frozen moment that we mentally and physically set up for the mirror. Excitingly, there is a gap between the real and imagination forever.

Secondly, I came across my favorite novel Lolita, which the author also tried to discuss the topic of past vs. present, consciousness vs. reality, memory vs. time and fake appearance vs. reality in.

Thirdly, the exploration is also driven by my mundane experience of the confusion of dream, nostalgia and the present reality.
